Pak Army Major among Five personnel martyred in Barkhan Operation: ISPR

RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps Balochistan conducted a targeted clearance operation against militants linked to “Fitna Al Hindustan,” and fiver personnel including a Major embraced martyrdom, ISPR said. The counterterrorism operation was conduted by Army troops alongside Frontier Corps Balochistan in the Nosham area of Barkhan District, targeting militants linked to the group. The targeted clearance mission quickly escalated into deadly exchange of fire when security forces located and engaged a hostile militant group entrenched in the area. In the fierce confrontation that followed, seven terrorists were eliminated on the spot. Authorities confirmed that a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also seized from the slain militants. Five brave members of the security forces embraced martyrdom after facing intense enemy fire during the engagement. The fallen heroes include Major Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti (31, Pakpattan), Naik Fida Hussain (36, Sukkur), Sepoy Zakir Hussain (32, Skardu), Sepoy Suhail Ahmed (21, Khanewal), and Sepoy Muhammad Ayaz (24, Rahim Yar Khan). After the clash, security forces have continued sweeping and sanitization efforts in surrounding areas to ensure no remaining militant presence survives in the region. Officials reaffirmed that the ongoing counterterrorism drive under the national framework “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, remains in full force, with an unwavering commitment to eliminating all forms of externally supported terrorism from the country.
