The Pakistan Medical and Dental Association has unveiled the pattern of upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 scheduled for 16 August 2026. The MDCAT 2026 examination is set to be conducted as a paper-based, multiple-choice test in the English language. According to the announced format, the test will consist of a total of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates will not face any negative marking, meaning no marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. Subject Wise MCQs The question distribution will include 81 MCQs from Biology, making it the largest section of the examination. Chemistry will have 45 questions, while Physics will include 36 MCQs. The test will also feature 9 questions each from English and Logical Reasoning. Difficulty Levels The overall difficulty level of the MDCAT 2026 will be divided into three categories. Around 15 percent of the questions are expected to be easy, 70 percent will be of moderate difficulty, and 15 percent will fall into the difficult category. The updated pattern is expected to help students understand the structure of the examination and prepare according to the subject-wise weightage and difficulty level.
