PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced major reforms to streamline the issuance of domicile certificates, aiming to improve public services and facilitate ease of doing business. Under a new Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) model, the domicile issuance system will be fully digitized to reduce delays and enhance transparency in the processing of applications. Officials said applicants whose records are verified through NADRA will be able to obtain their domicile certificates on the same day. The facility will also be available to citizens who have not changed their residential address during the past three years. For applicants who changed their address between one and three years ago, verification will be completed within three days. Cases involving more recent address changes will undergo scrutiny by a district committee, with the verification process expected to be completed within 10 days. As part of the reforms, the domicile software will be integrated with the Dastak App and NADRA’s CRVS system. Citizens will also be able to complete biometric verification through the NADRA Pak ID App or at e-Sahulat centers. Officials said the objective of these measures is to make the domicile issuance process easier, faster and more transparent, while reducing unnecessary difficulties and delays for citizens.
