Although differences between generations have existed since time immemorial, the stress caused by these differences has increased significantly after the Industrial Revolution and with the declining influence of religion and traditional values. The widening gap between generations has made life difficult and, in many cases, threatened social harmony. Generational gap refers to differences in attitudes, beliefs, values and behaviors among people belonging to different age groups. Due to technological advancements, cultural changes, economic development and globalization, misunderstandings between generations have become common. These differences vary according to living standards, social structures, workplace culture and employment patterns. One major cause of generational conflict is the difference in living standards, educational systems and social environments. Older generations were raised with stricter rules, limited technological resources and a stronger emphasis on traditions and social values. In contrast, younger generations have grown up in a comparatively democratic environment that encourages individuality, freedom of expression and greater awareness of rights and justice. The developments achieved during the last fifty years are so extraordinary that they appear to surpass the progress made over thousands of years.
