Islamabad Weather Update: More rain, wind-hailstorms expected

More intermittent rain and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several other parts of Pakistan on Thursday night and Friday. Heavy rains and hailstorms are also expected at isolated places during the forecast period. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak moist currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating southern Pakistan. A westerly wave also prevails over the upper parts of the country and is likely to persist till June 5. Under these conditions, cloudy weather with rain, wind, and thunderstorms is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and at isolated places in upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Heavy falls and hailstorms may also occur at isolated places during the period. According to the forecast, Islamabad’s maximum temperature is expected to range between 40°C and 42°C on Friday and 41°C and 43°C on Saturday. In Rawalpindi, daytime temperatures are likely to remain between 38°C and 40°C on Friday, and 39°C and 41°C on Saturday. During the last 24 hours, rain and thunderstorms were recorded in Islamabad, Pothohar region, central Punjab, Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, hot and dry weather prevailed over other parts of the country.
