Hot, dry weather expected in Karachi over next 24 hours

KARACHI – Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast hot and dry weather conditions for Karachi over the next 24 hours, with clear skies expected during the day. The latest advisory issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department said that the city is likely to experience predominantly sunny and hot conditions during daytime hours, with no significant chances of rainfall. Officials said the maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to remain between 36°C and 38°C, while the minimum temperature recorded during the night stood at around 29°C. The overall weather pattern indicates continued heat intensity across the metropolitan area. The meteorological department further predicted that intermittent strong winds may also sweep through parts of the city during the forecast period. At present, winds are blowing from the west at a speed of approximately 11 kilometres per hour. Humidity levels in the city have been recorded at around 66 percent, which may increase the discomfort felt by residents due to the combination of heat and moisture in the air. Weather experts say such conditions are typical for this time of the season in Karachi, particularly when sea breezes are weak or inconsistent. Authorities have advised citizens, especially children, elderly people, and outdoor workers, to take precautionary measures to avoid heat-related issues. Residents have been encouraged to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours, and wear light clothing. The Met Office added that no major change in the current weather system is expected in the short term. However, it will continue to monitor atmospheric conditions and issue updates if any significant shift occurs.
