View Exterior Photos Chevrolet Chevrolet has unveiled the next-generation Silverado 1500, which also means new versions of the Trail Boss and ZR2. The off-road-ready Silverado trucks get the same treatment as the road-going trims, meaning new V-8 engines, more tech, and a fresh look. You can read about the rest of the 2027 Silverado lineup's changes here; pricing will be announced before they go on sale by the end of this year. Chevrolet just revealed the 2027 Silverado 1500 lineup, marking the start of a new generation for a pickup truck as quintessentially American as the Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest. The road-going trucks and the workhorses have been shined up with all sorts of newfangled tech and refreshed styling, and the rough and rowdy off-roaders are revamped as well with even more capability than before.
The Trail Boss is back and rides on 34-inch mud-terrain tires. It comes with a two-inch suspension lift and features a special off-road hood. The interior sports fabric seat inserts, red stitching, and seatbelts with Torch Red edges, which Chevy says is an obvious cue that the Trail Boss is an off-road model. For budget-minded folks, the Custom Trail Boss has similar hardware, albeit with fewer fancy features, for a more affordable price. Also, every Silverado 4x4 now comes with the popular Z71 package (upgraded suspension, skid plates, and hill-descent control).
