He claimed the slain militants were affiliated with the Indian proxy group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar. The minister further said Pakistani forces carried out separate operations against militant hideouts in Afghanistan’s Paktia, Paktika and Kunar provinces, where 25 militants were killed. He added that large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at the hideouts were also destroyed. Atta Tarar said the operations were carried out under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, adding that Pakistan’s security forces would continue targeting terrorists and Fitna al-Khawarij until terrorism allegedly backed and financed from abroad is eliminated.
