Pilgrims arriving in Arafat amid spiritual climax of Hajj 2026

MAKKAH – Millions of Muslim pilgrims from around the world gathered in the plains of Arafat on Tuesday to perform Waqoof-e-Arafah, the most important ritual of Hajj. Pilgrims traveled from Mina to Arafat, where Zuhr and Asr prayers will be offered together. The Hajj sermon will be delivered at the historic Masjid-e-Nimrah, emphasizing fundamental Islamic pillars, taqwa, and global unity. Hajj Sermon 2026 This year’s Hajj sermon will be translated and broadcast in 35 languages, including Urdu, Punjabi and Pashto. The Hajj sermon for the Day of Arafah in 2026 will be delivered by the renowned senior Imam and Khateeb of the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Abdulrahman Al-Hudhaify. Muzdalifah Stay After sunset, the pilgrims will leave for Muzdalifah, where they will combine Maghrib and Isha prayers and spend the night under the open sky. Officials estimate that nearly two million pilgrims are expected to take part in Hajj 2026. Saudi authorities have arranged extensive security and modern facilities across the Arafat area to manage the large crowds. Weather Update The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah advised pilgrims to remain inside their tents during Waqoof-e-Arafah due to extremely hot weather conditions. Authorities urged pilgrims to avoid unnecessary outdoor movement, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. According to officials, pilgrims will be able to listen to the Hajj sermon through audio and video links while staying inside their camps. The ministry also advised worshippers not to climb Jabal al-Rahmah to prevent heat-related incidents during the intense temperatures.
