LAHORE – The Punjab government has announced four public holidays on account of Eidul Azha 2026. The provincial government has issued a notification in this regard, stating that the holidays wills start from May 26 to 29 (Tuesday to Friday). The government employees in Punjab will enjoy six holidays as the Eid break combined two weekly offs (Saturday and Sunday). Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has declared a four-day public holiday across the province on the occasion of Eidul Azha 2026. According to an official notification issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administration Department, government offices will remain closed from May 26 to May 29. Similarly, the Sindh government has announced four days of official holidays for Eid, with a notification confirming that public offices will be closed from May 26 to May 29. Earlier, the federal government had also declared Eidul Azha holidays. According to a notification from the Cabinet Division, the nationwide holidays at the federal level will be observed from May 26 to May 28. Following the federal government’s notification, many people have expressed concerns about the limited duration. While Eid is traditionally celebrated for three days, the official holiday has been granted only until the second day of Eid.
