In line with his vision of strengthening democratic values, enhancing youth engagement, and fostering a deeper understanding of parliamentary democracy, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday launched a six-week Summer Internship Programme at the Senate of Pakistan for students from leading universities across the country. The programme has brought together talented students from the National Defence University (NDU), National University of Modern Languages (NUML), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), FAST-NUCES, Quaid-i-Azam University, Bahria University, and the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). During the internship, participants will gain first-hand exposure to the working of the Senate of Pakistan and the Senate Secretariat. They will observe parliamentary proceedings, legislative business, committee operations, and the day-to-day functioning of the Secretariat while developing a practical understanding of the legislative process, parliamentary oversight, and public policy formulation. The internship has been designed to provide students with rigorous academic and practical learning opportunities.
