Domestic worker dies during alleged abortion after gang rape

LAHORE – A young domestic worker died during an alleged abortion procedure after reportedly becoming pregnant following a gang rape incident in Lahore’s Model Town area, police said on Tuesday. According to investigators, the victim had recorded a video statement before her death, claiming that she learned about her pregnancy in November 2025 and subsequently informed her parents. Police said a case of alleged gang rape was registered on the basis of the victim’s written and video statements. Following her death, authorities have also incorporated murder charges into the case. Officials said the victim’s father was initially unwilling to permit a post-mortem examination. However, the autopsy was later conducted, and investigators are awaiting the report to determine the exact cause of death and gather further evidence. Police stated that the findings of the post-mortem examination will play a key role in advancing the investigation and identifying those responsible.
