Azma: Punjab completes Ashura arrangements

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari met with organizers of Majalis and Muharram processions in Faisalabad. Provincial Minister Bilal Akbar, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, the Commissioner Faisalabad, RPO Sohail Sukhera, and other relevant officials were also present during the meeting. Representatives of the Majalis and procession organizers included Jafar Naqvi, Syed Iftikhar Naqvi, Hasnain Shirazi, Muhammad Qasim, Tasadduq Hussain, Abbas Haider, Mumtaz Hussain, Agha Mehndi, and Ammar Ali. The organizers thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for ensuring the provision of facilities and effective arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram. Speaking on the occasion, Azma Bokhari stated that officers of the Punjab Police and district administration remain in continuous contact with organizers of Majalis and processions to ensure that mourners receive every possible facility and support. She emphasized that the peaceful conduct of Ashura processions and religious gatherings remains the Punjab Government’s foremost priority, and all necessary arrangements have been finalized in this regard. She further stated that special arrangements are being made for mourners, including the provision of cold drinking water and other essential facilities, while a substantial police force has been deployed to ensure the security of Majalis and processions. Azma Bokhari praised the exemplary harmony among scholars and religious leaders of all schools of thought, noting that this spirit of unity and brotherhood is playing a vital role in maintaining peace and public order across the province. The Information Minister added that it is encouraging to see the organizers expressing satisfaction with the government’s measures and arrangements.
