Trump says US-Iran agreement in final stages, signing expected soon

WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump has announced that planned military action against Iran has been halted as negotiations between the two countries near completion, claiming that the documents for a potential agreement are in their final stages and could be signed soon. Speaking to reporters, Trump said the signing ceremony could take place by the end of the week and is likely to be held in Europe. He said US Vice President JD Vance would participate in the signing ceremony and added that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened immediately after the agreement is signed. According to Trump, the proposed deal has been welcomed across the Middle East. The US president expressed confidence that Iran’s Supreme Leader supports the agreement and said he believes the deal has already received approval from Tehran’s top leadership. He also reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons under the proposed arrangement. Trump further stated that Pakistan was playing a positive role in efforts aimed at securing peace and praised Pakistan’s prime minister and field marshal, describing them as significant figures. He also revealed that he had discussed the Iran issue with Israel. Earlier, in a statement posted on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran had reached the highest level and had received the necessary approvals.
