Supreme Court upholds Zahir Jaffer’s death sentence in Noor Mukadam murder case

ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court on Thursday disposed of the review plea filed by Zahir Jaffer in the Noor Mukadam murder case. In July 2021, 27-year-old Noor was killed at a residence in Islamabad belonging to Zahir. Investigators concluded that she had been subjected to severe abuse before losing her life. Zahir was sentenced to death by a trial court, a decision later upheld by the Islamabad High Court. However, he filed a review petition challenging the ruling in July last year.
