Key takeaways

  • The Yoto reminds me of a Walkman, but if a Walkman was cute and square and used audio cards instead of CDs, and had a built-in speaker if you didn't want to use headphones.

  • It's similar in some ways to the popular Tonie Box (which is also on sale), but I hate how hard you have to hit the Tonie to change the song or story.

It makes for a great screen-free way for kids to listen to age appropriate content, and you can even make your own card like you'd make a mixtape back in the day. It's a great device and travels well, whether it's just keeping your kid entertained for a long drive or coming on a flight with the family, and both versions—the larger Yoto Player and the petite Yoto Mini—are on sale for Prime Day.
