Islamabad residents can now Apply for Birth and Death Certificates via ‘PAK App’

ISLAMABAD – Islamabad residents had to stand in long queues to get birth and death certificates, but with digital leap, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) launched online registration service through Pak App, allowing citizens to apply, pay fees, and receive official certificates from the comfort of their homes. In collaboration with the National Information Technology Board (NITB), MCI rolled out an online birth and death registration service through the Pak App, allowing residents of the federal capital to access essential civic services without visiting municipal offices. The initiative is designed to simplify process of obtaining vital registration documents by bringing the entire application procedure online. Citizens can now submit requests for birth and death certificates from the comfort of their homes, significantly reducing the need for in-person visits and lengthy administrative procedures. The newly introduced platform also features secure mobile payment integration, enabling applicants to pay processing fees digitally. Upon successful completion of the process, official certificates are issued electronically and delivered directly to users. MCI Chief Officer Anam Fatima said the service represents a significant advancement in public service delivery. She noted that the digital system is intended to improve transparency, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce delays commonly associated with traditional paperwork and office-based procedures. Officials said the platform offers residents uninterrupted access to vital documentation services, allowing applications to be submitted anytime and from anywhere.
