The Punjab Irrigation Department has reached a significant milestone in digital revenue management after recording major success through its Irrigation Revenue Collection system, known as e-Aabiana. Developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the e-Aabiana platform generated a record collection of Rs1.6 billion on June 15, 2026, processing nearly 99,866 bills in a single day. The development was highlighted during a meeting chaired by PITB chairman Faisal Yousaf. Senior officials, including Ali Raza Kheiri, Joint Director Usman Waheed, along with other officials, also attended the session. During the briefing, participants were informed that since the launch of the e-Aabiana system in December 2020, around 6.7 million bills have been processed through e-Pay Punjab as of June 17, 2026, reflecting the increasing use and effectiveness of the digital payment platform. Speaking at the meeting, Faisal Yousaf said the achievement demonstrates the successful execution of the e-governance vision introduced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, supported by the technological expertise of the PITB. He said the integration of e-Aabiana with e-Pay Punjab has provided farmers with a secure, transparent, and user-friendly digital payment system, making the revenue collection process more efficient. Yousaf added that the initiative has strengthened record management, improved timely payment collection, and modernised overall revenue collection operations, ultimately contributing to improved governance and better public service delivery across Punjab.
