ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Thursday that the historic "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding" had been electronically signed between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the Strait of Hormuz set to reopen instantly and the US naval blockade to be lifted immediately as the agreement's first step.

"The memorandum has been signed by honourable presidents of both the countries and also endorsed by me as the mediator.
