RAWALPINDI – Security forces carried out two intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the night of 3–4 June 2026, killing four militants in total, ISPR said. In the first operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, troops acted on intelligence reports about the presence of militants. Security personnel moved in, cordoned off the area, and engaged the suspects in an exchange of fire. Two militants were killed in the encounter. In a second operation in Mohmand district, another group of militants was targeted following intelligence inputs. Security forces engaged them in a brief firefight, resulting in the deaths of two more individuals. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from both sites. Officials said the individuals were linked to multiple terrorist activities in the region. After operations, security forces launched sanitisation and search efforts in the surrounding areas to clear any remaining threats. Authorities said counterterrorism operations under the national framework “Azm-e-Istehkam” continue across the country as part of ongoing efforts to curb militancy and improve security.
