File | Photo Credit: AP Iran’s military command said on Thursday (June 11, 2026) it will target any ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz, after it struck two vessels attempting to pass through the strategic waterway. “Any vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz will be targeted” the Khatam al-Anbiya command said, according to Tasnim news agency, adding that the strait is now “completely closed to all types of vessel”, following fresh U.S. airstrikes against Iran. The Iranian navy, quoted by state television IRIB and the Mehr agency, said that “two ships attempting to illegally pass through the Strait of Hormuz were hit”. India on Wednesday (June 10, 2026) summoned the U.S. Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission Jason Meeks and lodged a ‘strong protest’ after one more attack on a commercial vessel near the Omani coast left three Indian sailors missing, official sources have confirmed. In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs described the incident as “deeply worrisome” and said it was “a direct result of the ongoing conflict in the region”. Two Indian seafarers died and one reported missing after an attack on oil tanker Settebello by U.S. forces, off the coast of Oman, on Wednesday (June 10, 2026), as per Manoj Yadav, general secretary of Forward Seamen’s Union of India (FSUI). The government had earlier said the three were missing. Mr. Yadav has identified the two dead as Aditya Sharma, deck cadet, and Shivanand Chaurasiya, engine fitter. Chief engineer Patnala Suresh is still missing, he said. The bodies of the six Naga men who were allegedly abducted by Kuki armed groups on May 13 and had remained missing since then, were recovered by the police in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Wednesday (June 10, 2026), police said.
