Man kills daughter, her husband over love marriage in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA – A man killed his daughter and her husband over love marriage in Mandiala Waraich area of Gujranwala. The man, who is said to be a landlord, also killed a household worker. Police said the suspect killed his daughter and her husband after the couple had reportedly married for love around three months ago. Officials said the landlord later also killed a worker in an apparent attempt to conceal the matter. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which has shocked the local community. In a separate incident earlier in February 2026, a married couple was killed in Karachi’s Bhains Colony after they were targeted in firing over a love marriage. Police said the attack was carried out by the woman’s father along with accomplices, leaving both husband and wife dead and a passerby injured. Authorities in Karachi confirmed that two suspects were arrested shortly after the incident through technical and intelligence-based efforts. Initial investigations suggested the attack stemmed from a personal dispute. Cases have been registered, and raids are underway to arrest additional suspects.
