2027 Nissan Frontier Sport Debuts as a Budget-Friendly Off-Roader

Along with all-terrain tires, the SV trim's new Sport Edition package includes an aluminum skid plate and a flashier interior.

The Nissan Frontier might be the black sheep of the mid-size pickup truck segment, but its lineup has a herd of configurations, and now it's expanding to include even more options, especially for off-roaders working on a budget. For 2027, the Frontier adds a Sport Edition that's actually geared more towards dirt roads than paved ones.

Based on the Frontier's mid-tier SV trim level, the new Sport Edition package includes standard off-road hardware that makes it seem like a discounted Pro-X or Pro-4X. Like those trail-ready models, the Sport has a black-painted front fascia, grille, and mirrors. There's a distinctive "Sport" decal on the bedsides too. It also rides on 32-inch-tall Hankook Dynapro all-terrain tires, which are mounted on a set of black 17-inch wheels. The truck's underbody is protected by an aluminum skid plate, and the road ahead is illuminated by LED fog lights.
