ISLAMABAD – The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has set the record with highest number of company registrations in a single month in April 2026. It recorded the registration of 4,082 new companies, bringing the total number of registered companies in the country to 294,101. SECP also reported a new daily record: on April 30 alone, 340 companies were registered. Investors from 22 countries participated in registering companies in Pakistan, with 95 shareholders from China alone, contributing a total paid-up capital of PKR 193 million. Among provinces, Punjab led with 2,093 registrations, followed by Islamabad with 719, Sindh with 600, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 325, Gilgit-Baltistan with 276, and Balochistan with 69. Sector-wise, IT and e-commerce dominated, with 832 new IT companies, followed by 757 in trading, 490 in services, 358 in real estate and construction, 242 in tourism, 158 in food and beverages, 127 in education, and 105 in textiles. SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Sidhu stated that the surge in registrations is a positive development toward formalizing the economy and strengthening documentation practices.
