11 dead, seven injured as van collides with parked bus on Swat Expressway

PESHAWAR – At least 11 passengers were killed and seven others sustained injuries after a van collided with a parked bus on the Swat Expressway. The National Highways and Motorways Police said the incident took place near Ismailia. Rescue authorities reported that the bus was parked along the roadside when a fast-moving van struck it from behind. Initial findings suggest that the accident took place due to alleged negligence and overspeeding by the van driver. Emergency response teams reached the scene shortly after the incident and shifted the bodies and injured passengers to a nearby hospital. The injured are currently receiving medical treatment. According to initial details, the bus was traveling from Karachi to Buner, while the van was en route from Rawalpindi to Dir at the time of the crash. Authorities are investigating the incident further. In Karachi, a serious road accident occurred near Bahria Town on the Super Highway, leaving two young men critically injured, according to rescue sources. Rescue officials reported that a speeding and out-of-control car suddenly veered off the road and crashed into a roadside tree. The impact of the collision was severe, completely destroying the vehicle, with the front portion badly crushed. Both occupants of the car sustained serious injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital in Bahria Town, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Police and rescue teams reached the scene shortly after the incident, collected evidence, and have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
