LAHORE – A 14-year-old domestic shop worker died after allegedly being subjected to severe torture by his employer in the Factory Area, Stara Colony, the police said Saturday. A spokesperson for DIG Operations Lahore said that the victim, Ali Hassan, was working at a grocery store owned by suspect namely Samiullah when the incident occurred. The spokesperson said the accused allegedly assaulted the minor and later left him unconscious at the doorstep of his home in a critical condition. The injured boy was shifted to hospital, where he died around four hours later. Medical examination confirmed multiple marks of violence on his body, officials said. The local shopkeepers claimed that the suspect repeatedly beat the child with an iron rod during the incident. The police said a case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s brother, and the suspect has been arrested and handed over to the investigation wing for further legal proceedings.
