Gillani reaffirms Pakistan–US Strategic Bond at 250th US Independence Day Ceremony

ISLAMABAD – 250th Independence Day of United States was held at US Embassy in Islamabad, bringing together senior diplomats, top government officials, business leaders, and prominent figures from diverse sectors. Chairman Senate of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gilani attended the reception as chief guest from Pakistan’s parliamentary leadership. On the occasion, he extended warm felicitations to US President Donald Trump, the Government of the United States, and the American people, congratulating them on the historic milestone. Gilani reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations, terming the enduring partnership between the two countries a vital pillar for global peace and harmony. Speaking at ceremony, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker described Pakistan-US relations as “stronger than ever,” highlighting that the partnership reflects the very best of bilateral cooperation. She noted that under the leadership of President Trump and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, both countries have embraced a renewed strategic partnership. Ms Baker stressed that the relationship between Islamabad and Washington is rooted in mutual respect, shared interests, and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors. She said both countries are working closely to promote regional peace, stability, economic development, and the welfare of their people. She further acknowledged diplomatic efforts related to a recent Iran ceasefire, crediting coordination at senior leadership levels.
