7 consecutive Eidul Adha holidays begin from May 25 as weekly offs changed

The new Bangladeshi government has announced a seven-day public holiday for Eidul Adha 2026 as it has changed the weekly offs for offices for one time. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tariq Rahman as the Eid festival approaches. Pilgrims from around the world are arriving in Saudi Arabia, while preparations for sacrifices and other traditional rituals are reaching their peak. Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha are the two major festivals for Muslims, emphasizing the values of sacrifice, generosity, and trust in God. Each Muslim country celebrates these occasions according to its regional culture, and governments typically announce public holidays to mark the festivities. Eidul Adha 2026 Holidays Schedule According to the Cabinet Division, the holidays will run from Monday, May 25, to Sunday, May 31. To accommodate the extended break, the regular weekly offs on May 23 and 24 (Saturday and Sunday) May 23, has been canceled, and government offices will remain open on these days to ensure routine administrative work continues. The government has issued directives to various agencies to ensure smooth travel and administrative facilities for citizens during the festive period. Additionally, markets and shopping centers across the country will remain open until 10 pm to facilitate Eid shopping.
