RIYADH – Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia has announced temporary suspension of consular, passport, NADRA and other services due to internal maintenance. It made the announcement on social media platform, stating: “It is to inform all applicants that Consular Services, Passport Services, NADRA Services, and Welfare Services at the Embassy will remain closed on Sunday, 10 May 2026, due to internal maintenance”. “Any inconvenience caused is regretted,” it said. A few days ago, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGI & P) announced that passport services at Pakistani embassies and consulates have resumed in the UAE and several other countries worldwide. The move comes after a widespread technical glitch at DGI & P headquarters in Islamabad had caused passport services at overseas missions to be suspended since April 29. The disruption affected Pakistani missions across the Gulf and other regions, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait, leaving thousands of citizens unable to apply for or renew their passports. Over 2.6 million Pakistani nationals live and work in Saudi Arabia, forming the largest overseas Pakistani community in the kingdom.
