Senate Chairman Gilani pays respects at Khamenei’s Funeral during Tehran visit

TEHRAN – Chairman of Senate of Pakistan Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani visited Tehran, where he was received by Deputy Speaker of Iran’s Parliament and presented with a guard of honour. According to the information provided, Gilani paid his respects to assasinated Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, during his visit. The two sides discussed a wide range of issues, including Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations, parliamentary cooperation, and matters of mutual interest. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening ties between the two neighbouring countries. Chairman Gilani and Deputy Speaker jointly addressed presser, highlighting importance of enhancing parliamentary engagement and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors. Members of the Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group were also present on the occasion. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, senior officials of the Pakistani Embassy, and high-ranking Iranian officials welcomed the Senate Chairman upon his arrival.
