Punjab all set to present budget for FY-2026-26 on June 16

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved the presentation of the provincial budget for the financial year 2026-27, which will be tabled in the Punjab Assembly on June 16, official sources said on Monday. Following the chief minister’s approval, the schedule for the budget presentation has been finalised and preparations for the upcoming fiscal document have been completed. The provincial government will present its financial plan in the assembly session on the scheduled date, outlining revenue estimates, expenditure priorities and development targets for the new financial year. Officials said the upcoming budget is expected to feature a broad development agenda along with public welfare-focused initiatives aimed at improving key sectors across the province. According to sources, a multi-billion-rupee development programme is likely to be included, with major focus on education, health, infrastructure and social sector uplift projects. They added that, on the directives of the chief minister, the budget framework has been prepared in line with public-friendly policies and development priorities.
