Iran warns US of swift response to any interference in Strait of Hormuz

Iran has warned the United States of an immediate and forceful reaction to any interference in the Strait of Hormuz. “Any US interference in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with a decisive and swift response from the armed forces,” the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said in a statement. Iran’s military leadership has declared that all commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz must follow maritime routes designated by Tehran, warning that vessels ignoring the directive could face serious repercussions. The military command stressed that the Strait of Hormuz falls under the sovereign authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran and is not an area where the US can act freely. The statement emphasised that ensuring security and maintaining stability in the crucial shipping corridor remains a non-negotiable priority for Iran’s military. The Iranian military also issued a stern warning to both the US and Israel against any strategic miscalculation, saying any hostile move would provoke a severe response. Iranian commanders said adversaries, particularly the US, Israel, and their regional allies, should carefully consider the consequences of any threat or aggressive action against Iran. The statement concluded by reaffirming Iran’s full preparedness to defend its sovereignty, national security, and territorial integrity against any external challenge.
