NADRA ‘ends’ birth certificate requirement for new ID card: Check fees

ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced a major facility for Pakistani citizens, allowing them to obtain national identity cards without requiring a birth certificate. NADRA has introduced a special facility allowing women over 18 and men over 24 to obtain national identity cards without requiring a birth certificate. This measure targets the roughly three percent of the population that remains unregistered, two-thirds of whom are women. Under this initiative, unregistered individuals can acquire CNICs by fulfilling certain alternative conditions. Deadline The exemption from the birth certificate requirement will remain in effect until December 31, 2026. Authorities have designed the system to accommodate various living circumstances, ensuring that no individual is left without official identification. NEW ID Card Fee Schedule For obtaining a new CNIC, applicants have three types of service options: normal, urgent, and executive. The normal service has no fee but takes 15 days for processing. The urgent service costs Rs1,150 and the CNIC is issued within 12 days. The fastest option, executive, is priced at Rs2,150 and guarantees delivery in just 6 days.
