PAKISTAN is located in a region where geography has always been a center of power, trade, and politics. Unfortunately, we have not fully utilized this geographical importance. Now, with the establishment of the Gabd Border Terminal, a new hope has emerged that Pakistan can correct its trade direction and play an effective role in the regional economy. The activation of the Gabd Border Terminal is not merely the opening of a border point but the beginning of a new mindset. In the past, Pakistan’s trade with Central Asia was mostly limited to routes through Afghanistan, where political tensions, security issues, and uncertainty were constant obstacles. Now, with an alternative route through Iran, Pakistan will not only gain trade freedom but also strengthen its position in the region. This new route essentially connects Pakistan to Central Asian states such as Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and others via Iran. The greatest advantage is that Pakistan can now adopt multiple trade routes instead of relying on a single one. In global trade, such diversification becomes a country’s strength. Another important aspect of the Gabd Border is that it is a practical step toward making Gwadar Port truly functional. For years, Gwadar has been presented as a game changer, but ground realities did not fully support this claim. Now, with land routes opening, there is hope that Gwadar can truly become a regional transit hub. Under this project, a modern international transport system has also been introduced, which will make the delivery of goods faster, cheaper, and more secure. This will have a direct impact on both Pakistan’s exports and imports, reducing business costs and potentially giving new energy to the national economy. The project is also good news for the people of Balochistan. New doors of employment, development, and a better future will open. The government’s vision is to make Pakistan a hub of regional trade, and the Gabd Corridor is a strong step toward turning this drea
