Adopt a park campaign of PHA gains momentum in Lahore

LAHORE – A major progress has been made under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Beautiful Lahore” vision as the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) continues its “Adopt a Park” campaign to enhance urban green spaces. The Parks and Horticulture Authority Lahore and Crescent Educational Trust have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Mo U) in this regard for the adoption of Fatima Jinnah Park in Shadman. Under the agreement, Crescent Educational Trust will take responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the park. Speaking on the occasion, PHA Chairman Ghazali Saleem Butt said that the protection of parks and trees is a national responsibility, adding that the “Adopt a Park” initiative is a successful model of public-private partnership and civic cooperation. He said the campaign aims to make Lahore greener, cleaner and more environmentally friendly, while ensuring better recreational facilities for citizens. The officials said the initiative is also designed to encourage public awareness about park maintenance and environmental protection, with growing participation from private institutions helping improve the city’s green infrastructure.
