PESHAWAR – Good news for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as all CNG stations are set to reopen today after an extended closure caused by gas shortages. The objective of reopening all CNG stations is to provide relief to transporters, motorists, and consumers in the KP who have been facing problems for a long time. The announcement came from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi who assured on Wednesday that all CNG stations would be reopened in KP on Thursday (today). Addressing a joint press conference in Islamabad alongside K-P opposition leader Dr Ebadullah and provincial finance adviser Muzammil Aslam, the KP governor said that coordinated efforts between the provincial leadership, opposition, and the federal government had helped resolve the issue. He confirmed that CNG stations would operate daily from 6:00am to 6:00pm and said an agreement had been reached to supply 35 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas to the province. Governor Kundi stated that all political stakeholders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had shown unity in addressing public concerns and stressed the importance of collaboration between institutions. He said the matter had been directly taken up with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to ensure an urgent solution. He also appreciated the role of federal officials, including adviser Rana Sanaullah and minister Ali Pervez Malik, for their efforts in resolving the CNG supply crisis. The governor added that he was grateful to the prime minister for forming a high-level committee that facilitated progress on the issue. He said the recent steps reflected improved coordination between the federation and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Kundi further noted that positive developments were also being made regarding the wheat supply situation, expressing hope that it would be resolved within days. He praised the rare political consensus in the province, saying both the government and opposition had worked together in the public interest. CNG stations to remain closed in Dece
