ISLAMABAD – The internet users across Pakistan may experience slow browsing speeds as Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has warned of possible service disruptions due to scheduled submarine cable repair work. The telecom company said that internet services may be affected nationwide during the repair period, particularly during evening hours when traffic load is typically higher. According to PTCL, the maintenance work on the submarine cable system will continue from May 11 to May 18. The company added that the repair operations are being carried out by an international cable consortium responsible for maintaining the global undersea communication network. The officials stated that during this period, users may face temporary slow internet speeds or intermittent connectivity issues as the system undergoes technical maintenance. PTCL further clarified that the submarine cable repair is a necessary process aimed at ensuring long-term stability, improved performance, and enhanced quality of internet services in the future. The company assured customers that efforts are being made to minimise disruption and maintain service continuity as much as possible during the maintenance window.
