LAHORE – The chairperson of the Chief Minister’s Task Force on Examination Reforms has issued “most important” instructions for the matric or class 10 practical exams 2026. The chairperson has issued a circular to all the controller of examinations of the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) in Punjab. The class practical exams has started from May 12 as Physics subject exams will continue till May 25 while the Biology practical paper will be conducted from June 2 to 15. The chairperson has directed that strict measures be adopted to ensure transparency, fairness and better conduct of practical examinations. According to the instructions, the Practical Examiner shall ensure that the practical notebook/copy has been prepared by the candidate himself/herself. “For this purpose, the examiner shall personally compare and verify the handwriting of the candidate with the handwriting available in the practical notebook/copy during the conduct of practical examination.” The chairperson said the practical notebook/copy of each candidate shall be checked by the practical examiner during examination, and after verification/checking, the same shall be returned to the candidate after tearing/cancelling it appropriately to avoid its reuse. It said practical notebooks/copies purchased from the market or already solved/prepared by any other person shall not be accepted under any circumstances. Any negligence or violation of these instructions shall be viewed seriously and responsibility shall be fixed accordingly. “In addition, the above instructions shall also be implemented during the forthcoming Higher Secondary School Certificate (Part-II) (First Annual) Examinations, 2026,” read the letter.
